Types of Florida Keys Fishing:
The Florida Keys environment offers one of the most unique settings in the world! The bio-diversity found in the waters that surround the Florida Keys is beyond compare. No where in the world can you find the sea life, marine mammals and wading birds that thrive all around these islands. Whether we
explore the shallow patch reefs on the Atlantic side of the islands or the vast expanse of water that  makes up the majority of the Everglades National Park, you and your family will be blown away by the sights and sounds that you will experience while fishing with Bamboo Charters and Capt. Matt Bellinger.
Capt. Matt’s years of experience owning and operating a successful dive charter operation prior to becoming a full time fishing guide here in the Keys along with his education in marine biology has given him even more insight into this very complex environment. As a fishing guide this gives him that much more knowledge with which to impart into your day on the water.

Shark fishing the Keys:
The waters of the Everglades National Park are teeming with all manner of sharks. They can be pursued in many different ways. From sight casting to small Blacktips, Lemons, Bull and Bonnethead Sharks in gin clear water to drifting 4 lb. Jack Crevalles as bait for some real dino-sharks. Dino-sharks are full grown beasts that feed on the edges of the flats and reach epic size. Shark fishing was an overlooked sport for years down here, but things have changed as of late. By sizing our tackle to fit the fish, sharking has become a great way to sportfish in the Keys waters. This is stand up fishing; no backing down to chase the fish, its toe to toe combat when you are fighting a 200 lb. Bull shark on 20 lb. plug or spin tackle.

Backcountry fishing the Keys:
The backcountry is defined as the waters that make up Florida Bay. Florida Bay borders the backside of the Upper Keys. This shallow water fishery has much to offer everyone. We will seek out sea trout, tarpon, permit, snappers, redfish, snook, sharks, pompano, black drum and jack crevalles. We say if you haven’t
caught the fish you want yet, just keep fishing, you will! This is a more bang for the bucks type of fishing. At times the pace can be fast and furious in the backcountry. Trout will always be a willing participant in a light tackle duel and they are always joined in the fray by hard tugging jacks and ladyfish. For this type of fishing we use top quality spinning gear in the 6 to 10 lb. test class.
Sight and Flats Fishing the Keys:
Flats and sight fishing means that we will be floating in 2 ft. or less of water looking for signs of fish or even seeing the fish and then casting a lure or bait to that fish. In dirty water we will blind cast the waters just like you would back home on a bass lake. Soft plastic jerk baits that are rigged weedless let you cover the most water quickly in this very effective form of fishing. Snook, reds, tarpon and big sea trout will be targeted when we are flats and sight fishing. The boat is rigged with a 36 volt, 101 lb. thrust trolling motor which makes it a silent and swift means to stalk fish in shallow water.
